Charlotte Rose - a Scottish-born, London-based pop artist - has earned acclaim for her bold fusion of mid-20th‑century cigarette branding and literary motifs. Her Macbeth (A Dagger of the Mind) series, in particular, melds iconic Marlboro-style visuals with Shakespearean themes of mortality, fate, and human fragility, offering a provocative reflection on the seductive illusions that brands sell - and the darkness behind them  .

With Robert Emile, Charlotte’s work finds new form, meticulously hand-woven into a bespoke carpet collection that preserves every nuanced detail of her vision. Each rug subtly echoes the imagery, texture, and symbolic resonance of Macbeth, rendered in sumptuous wool and finely tuned to capture both the drama of the original and the tactile elegance of luxury weaving.

Charlotte Rose’s ‘Macbeth’ series explores illusion, vanity and downfall — using pop-iconography to strip back the seductive power of brands and reveal the darker human truths beneath. In translating this work into hand-woven carpets with the Amazigh women of Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, we unite two complex identities: Charlotte’s commentary on ambition and mortality, and the Amazigh’s own centuries-long struggle for cultural survival in North Africa.

Each piece is therefore produced in extremely limited numbers, echoing both Macbeth’s timeless warning about the price of power, and our shared commitment to preserving an ancient, endangered artform through intention, meaning and ethical collaboration..
